My eldest is a baker. She saw we had some almonds and found a recipe on allrecipes.com. When I came home I couldn't believe it. She had unknowingly made a square that my Oma used to make every week without fail. Can you say coinkydink? The square was called Jan Hagel. (Not only did my eldest bake the squares but this photo was also taken by her) I will be posting the recipe and will be sure to link it here.
