Our eldest has played soccer since she was five. She became a keeper and played both indoor and outdoor club soccer for three years. This year she decided to take a break and instead enjoys her weekly soccer game in a city rec league. She has since made the club Volleyball team. After this game, without any substitute players, she told me "Mom, girls in Volleyball have no idea what it means to run hard."
